MixITiN ESRs


ESR1 Konstantinos Anestis BSc from Aristoteleio Panepistimio Thessalonikis (Greece) and MSc from Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II (Italy). MixITiN ESR1 project was based at Alfred-Wegener-Institut (Germany). His primary supervisor was Dr Uwe John. Project title: Functional and comparative genomics to study regulatory and metabolic processes in mixoplankton.

ESR2 Nikola Medić BSc is from Sveučilište Jurja Dobrile (Croatia) and MSc from Prirodoslovno matematički fakultet, Sveučilište u Zagrebu (Croatia). MixITiN ESR2 project was based at Københavns Universitet (Denmark). His primary supervisor was Prof Per Juel Hansen. Project title: Ecophysiology of key species of constitutive mixotrophs including those contributing to harmful algal blooms (HABs).

ESR3 Guilherme Ferreira BSc and MSc are from the Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar, Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal). MixITiN ESR3 project was based at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC-ICM, Spain). Primary supervisor: Dr Albert Calbet. Project title: Top down control of marine protists by  mixotrophs.

ESR4 Joost Mansour Studied at University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Penn State University (USA). MixITiN ESR4 project was based at Station de Biologique de Roscoff (France). Primary supervisor: Dr Fabrice Not, on Oceanic Greenhouses. Project title: the endosymbiotic non-constitutive mixotrophic Radiolaria, including Acantharia and Collodaria.

ESR5 Filomena Romano Studied at Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II (Italy). MixITiN ESR5 project was based at Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (Crete, Greece). Primary supervisor: Dr Paraskevi Pitta. Project title: Ciliate mixotrophy in the ultra-oligotrophic Eastern Mediterranean.

ESR6 Andreas Norlin BSc and MSc from Københavns Universitet (Denmark). MixITiN ESR6 project was based at Cardiff University (UK). Primary supervisor: Dr Aditee Mitra. Project title: Life in planktonic greenhouses; a systems dynamics approach.

ESR7 Maira Maselli BSc and MSc at Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II (Italy). MixITiN ESR7 project was based at Københavns Universitet (Denmark). Primary supervisor: Prof Per Juel Hansen. Project title: Ecophysiology of key species of generalist non-constitutive mixoplankton (GNCMs).

Supervisors: Prof Kevin Flynn and Dr Aditee Mitra. Project title: Trophodynamics of the cryptophyte-Mesodinium-Dinophysis complex.

ESR11 Lisa Schneider UG and PG degrees from University of Hamburg and Technical University Dresden. MixITiN ESR11 project was based at Deltares (Netherlands). Primary supervisor: Dr Willem Stolte. Project title: Coastal water management under the mixotrophic plankton paradigm.
